Another Perspective

Here are the blogs of the other students that I have met at Akita International University (AIU). Please visit their blogs by clicking the link on their names to get a different perspective about AIU.

Daniela Lange
Daniela is a student studying abroad from Germany. She is studying business and she will be here for the Fall 2012 to Spring 2013 semester. She is apart of the Happocho Program and the LDIC Foreign Language support so she teaches English and German to students at AIU and little kids. During the winter, she will be going to China to teach Germany instead of stay at AIU during the Winter 2013 semester.

Note: Her blog is written in German.
 Keli'i Lum
Keli'i is the other student from the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) that is studying at AIU with me. He is a few years older than me and is also studying business at UHM. He is very enthusiastic to learn Japanese, and does his best to introduce Hawaiian culture to the Japanese and other international students. Due to him, I do not feel homesick that often. He will be here from Fall 2012 to Spring 2013

 Petr Ovcacek
Petr is a Czech International studying abroad at AIU from Fall 2012 to Spring 2013. Although English is not his first language, Petr is majoring in both English and Japanese. Despite his appearance, Petr is very jolly person, and he is a little kid at heart. He loves to cook and play with the children at the COS events.

Note: His blog is written in Czech

Pimms is a student from the University of Leeds at the United Kingdom. He is studying English and Philosophy. He will be here at AIU from Fall 2012 to Spring 2013. Pimms is know for his daredevil personality because he is willing to do things that most students will not attempt to do. At Tohoku Culture class Pimms wore only a T-Shirt and jeans despite the cold temperature from the snow for most of the trips. Pimms likes to go hiking and during Spring break he intends to go to America for the first time to visit a friend he met during the Fall 2012 semester.
 Ria Tinio
Ria is a student studying abroad from the Philippines. She will only be here for the Fall 2012 semester, and she is also studying business. Ria is involved with the Happocho Program, so she gets to stay with a Host Family and teaches English to little kids. She is also involved with other clubs such as calligraphy.

 Viscount William
Will is an international student from Washington State in the United States. He will only be studying at AIU for the Fall 2012 semester. His goal after college is to go into either graduate school or join the JET program in order to teach Japanese students English. He is a very cheerful and funny person, and is always interested in trying new things. Due to his beard and quirky personality, he has been compared to popular icons such as Obi Wan Kenobi or Steve Carrel.
